Offered through the LionLike Institute of the Arts, Lions Behind Bars is a transformative arts-based experience for incarcerated individuals of all ages. Through structured creative writing, guided reflection, and performance, participants reconnect with their voice and learn to express their stories with power and purpose.

Our Journey:
Reflection, Creation, Redemption
This 13-week program is structured into three intentional phases that guide participants from introspection to confident expression. Developed in collaboration with professional artists, system-impacted leaders, and justice advocates.
- Reflection (Weeks 1–6): Explore emotions, identity, and past experiences through guided poetry and journaling
- Creation (Weeks 7–10):Craft original songs and stories rooted in truth, growth, and inner strength
- Redemption (Weeks 11–13): Prepare and present a final creative piece—whether a written journal, recorded spoken word, or live performance—culminating in a safe and affirming community showcase
